Leaf Blessings

Today has been an enjoyable, peaceful day with my girls. We took a break late this morning to go for a walk/bike ride to the playground where we live, and the weather is just beautiful. While we were there, an Indian gentleman walked over and sat down at the picnic table just by the playground area and started journaling. There was something about him that captured my attention, and Hannah was immediately drawn to him as well. (In fact, she felt the need to go find a tree nearby by herself and pray for him!) We walked over to where he was and he said hi to Hannah and asked her name; she wasn't quite sure what he was saying so I had to go interpret for her. We talked about how we do homeschool and the beautiful day. He looked at me and gave us blessings, saying "God bless your family and future and all He has in store for you". And I really did receive that blessing! As we were walking away to leave, a beautiful fall leaf caught our attention, so Hannah picked it up and took it over to him and said "here, this is for you". His reaction was a big smile and "ahhh thank you, very nice, very nice, very nice, God Bless you." Blessed we were!
