I have not posted in quote some time....okay a long time. The past year has been so crazy and CHANGING that I figured it was worth posting a blog about.
Since I returned home from my trip in September, I got home and things were normal for the most part. Went back to being a stay at home mom, Ken working at a retail store as assistant manager. Some "corporate" things happened regarding policy in which he had supposedly broken, and upper management decided it was warranted to fire him the weekend right before Christmas. My first thought was well marry Christmas to you too. I was really quite angry. I didn't understand how they could do this to us having a child, or even how God could let this happen to us when He knew our situation.
Well, strangely, after praying a LOT with my husband, we both felt an unexplainable peace about the whole situation. It was like somehow we knew that God had everything under control. The best way to describe it was really a "peace that passes understanding". Of course we didn't realize that it would entail me getting another full time job during the day. Fortunately, some dear friends of ours that we had gone to church with had offered to watch Hannah for us during the day. They actually didn't have a "solid" source of income as they had a ministry and book that they were creating, and so this turned out to be an opportunity to bless one another! What is great about it is that originally we were looking at another home daycare for Hannah, which there was just something not right about that situation, but I couldn't put my finger on it. Well, after telling her what we decided to do, she became very upset and made sure to note that she could have made xxxxx amount of money in the time frame she held that spot open for us; it became clear to me it was more about the money than the children to her. Praise God for protecting my daughter!!
So we are continuing forward in obedience to God, paying off our debt, growing close to the Lord in our relationship with Him and each other. We look to have all of our debt paid off (except for our vehicle) paid off in Fall of 2008! Hopefully by this time I'll be back home again as a stay at home mom to hopefully not only Hannah but another little bundle of joy, Lord Willing! God always has our best interest at heart, even if it doesn't seem like it at the moment. We just have to remember that He knows what He has in store for our future, and lay our lives down in His care and guidance so that we can find out what that is! And oh how exciting when we get to the other side!
