Off to Alabama we go!!

Left at 5:05 in the morning for our 16 hour drive to Mobile, AL where we stayed at Spring Hill Baptist Church. We stopped through Jackson, MS to visit with Ron's brother, Jeff, where he was working with Service Master in the Katrina clean up process as well. The trip really went pretty well...it was amazing how the further south we got, the more damage you saw to roofs and signs from the wind. This area of town mostly had to just deal with the storms from Katrina. The church we stayed at didn't sustain any damage however. We arrived in Mobile at around 10 pm, and were greeted very warmly. We stayed in the church's activity center in one of their classrooms, and we slept on the floor (thank goodness for air mattresses!). They had showers available to us, so fortunately it wasn't that bad of a set up (and Debbie was very happy we didn't have to camp out!). Crashed hard that night ready to rise early the next morning!
